He went to Rhodes University, in Grahamstown, studying Philosophy and Computer Science, and graduated with a Masters in Computer Science. After working for Adept Internet in Stellenbosch for two years, he moved to Cape Town, to work for OpenVoice. In May 2008, he moved to Synthasite (a free website builder as a Systems and Services Engineer. The company has now rebranded itself as Yola, and Jonathan has been promoted to Operations Team Leader.
